Chilli Paneer

Chili Paneer is a popular Indo-Chinese dish that many people love, including me. This dry version is full of flavor but not too spicy, making it enjoyable for everyone. It’s made with paneer cubes, diced onions, capsicum, sauces, and spices, all tossed together to create a delicious fast food-style dish. The mix of crunchy vegetables and soft paneer coated in tangy sauce makes it a favorite among today’s generation. I enjoy this recipe, and it’s also very quick and easy to make—perfect for when you want a tasty dish in no time.

Ingredients of Chili Paneer:

  • 250 gm paneer
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  •  2 green chilies
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 ½   tbsp corn flour
  • 1 capsicum
  • ½  red bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • ½ cup onion
  • ½ cup refined oil
  • 1 tbsp green chili sauce
  • ½  yellow bell pepper
  • 2 stalks spring onions
  • 1 ½  tbsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tbsp black pepper powder

How to Make Chili Paneer Recipe:

First, cut about 250 grams of paneer into cubes and place them in a bowl. In a small bowl, mix red chili powder with a little water to make a thick paste. Add this paste to the paneer cubes along with black pepper powder and one tablespoon of corn flour. Mix well so the paneer is nicely coated. Add another spoon of corn flour for a second coating—this helps the paneer stay crispy after frying.

Heat some oil in a frying pan on medium-high flame. Gently drop the paneer cubes into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden and crisp. Remove and keep them aside. In the same pan, add a tablespoon of oil, followed by chopped ginger, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté for a few seconds until fragrant. Now add diced onion, capsicum, red bell pepper, and yellow bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes.

Next, add green chili sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, red chili powder, and a little salt. Mix everything well. Pour in about ¼ cup of corn flour slurry and stir until the sauce thickens slightly. Finally, add the fried paneer cubes and toss them in the sauce for 2 minutes so they are well coated. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves, mix gently, and turn off the flame. Your spicy, flavorful chili paneer is ready to serve hot!
